Dear WCF members,

2020 has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for many of us around the world. Our lives were turned up-side-down by this pandemic and we missed out on many of the big plans we had for the year.

None the less, we have managed to continue to enjoy our passion for Capoeira with the help of modern technology, technology that just a few years ago didn't exist. Even though we could not travel we still managed to participate in competitions and engage with fellow Capoeiristas around the world.

With news of a vaccine coming in the early stages of 2021 it would seem that things are going to start looking positive for being able to travel and play again for international competition in the various countries eligible to host WCF sanctioned events.

However, as a precaution, the WCF has not scheduled any inter-personal competitions for the first half of 2021 to avoid disappointment and dilemma in case travel is not underway again within the next 6 months. Online competitions however will continue through this time.

Therefore, the World Capoeira Federation 2021 competition calendar is now released.

March 2021 – “Joga Maneiro” - Mens Online Capoeira Solo Competition.

June 2021 – “Eu Canto Capoeira 2” - Online Capoeira Music Composition Competition.

September 2021 – “Joga Bonita 2” - Womens Online Capoeira Solo Competition.

December 2021 – “Joga Legal 2” - Youth Online Capoeira Solo Competition.

All full member national federations will receive detailed information of the WCF 2021 calendar including registration details and entry requirements.

All players may ask their national federation, if your country doesn't have a national federation the please get in touch with the WCF for event information or also ask about the procedure to set up a national federation in your country, the WCF is here to help.
