A Capoeira
Coach is an exercise and sports specialist who by way of formation of behavioral
habits, as well as physical and mental exercises, manages the achievement of
athletic goals that support human health. The task of a Capoeira coach is the comprehensive,
effective and safe development of athletic and physical abilities.
Capoeira
Coaching requires a sense of responsibility, creativity, need for achievement,
accuracy and honesty. Periodic efficient upgrading of knowledge and skills to support
the coaching and transfer of experiences and knowledge to colleagues. It is important
to have the ability to influence trainees with personal examples.
A Capoeira coach
works independently, as a member or a leader of the team involving various
specialists.
What is the
Coaching qualification?
A coaching
qualification, often simply called a Professional certification, is a
designation earned by a person to assure that he or she has a qualification to
perform a Coaching job or task.
A
certification is a third-party attestation of an individual's level of
knowledge or proficiency in a certain industry or profession. In sports they
are granted by international recognized sport federations. Not all
certifications that use the word COACHING are an acknowledgment of a persons’ educational
achievement.

What do I need to
do to become a Capoeira coach?
To become a
professional Capoeira coach you will need to participate in and successfully complete
a Capoeira Coaching course recognized by the WCF. Read RECOMMENDATIONS below to
become a professional Capoeira coach.

After completing a course in Capoeira coaching, successful students could potentially pursue career opportunities as Capoeira coaches with public and private school physical education programs or collegiate athletic departments. Other options may include athletic program coordinators at community centers or youth-focused nonprofit organizations. Working directly with professional sports teams and athletes may be another viable option. Some students may seek employment as personal at gyms or health clubs. A coaching qualification provides also:
* an opportunity for an individual to obtain a coaching license that is valid in European countries where a person can procure Capoeira coaching activities.
* a coaching qualification within EQF supports cross-border mobility of Capoeira coaches and lifelong learning across Europe. It means your Capoeira Coaching Qualification will be recognized and welcomed in almost all European countries and even in many other countries around the world.
* a coaching qualification increases the professional competitiveness of a coach and increases his or her ability to find work as sport specialist.
* a coaching qualification provides an opportunity to work with youth, participate in youth policy that is produced in the country and therefore to find funding for their professional coaching work.
What is a Capoeira
Coaching Qualification within the “European
Qualification Framework” and what
is the Role of WCF in this Project?
In cooperation with the
Estonian Olympic Committee, the Estonian Foundation of Sport Education and
Information and the Estonian Capoeira Federation, the World Capoeira Federation
(WCF) and the Colleague of Sport and Fitness based in Australia (CSF), we
provide the implementation and coordination support for the Capoeira Coaching
Qualification.
The curriculum and content
of Capoeira Coaching Qualification has been adopted by the Estonian Olympic
Committee, which referenced it to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
It should be noted that Estonian qualifications have been linked to the EQF
since 2011.
In a word, when you obtain
Capoeira Coaching Qualification from the WCF you it will be recognised in all
European countries.
What is the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)?
The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a common frame of reference that relates the qualification systems of various European countries to each other with the purpose purpose to make qualifications more understandable across different the countries and systems.
The EQF acts as a translation device to make national qualifications more readable throughout Europe, promoting workers' and learners' mobility between countries and facilitating their lifelong learning.
Individuals and employers are able to use the EQF to better understand and compare the qualifications levels of various countries with different education and training systems. Since 2012, all new qualifications issued in Europe carry a reference to an equivalent EQF level.
The implementation of the EQF was based on the Recommendation on the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on 23 April 2008.
By April 2018, 35 countries have formally linked their
national qualifications frameworks to the EQF.

The remaining countries are expected to follow in the coming years.
The EQF also comparable with Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) and the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF).
Levels of Qualification for Capoeira Coaches will be as Follows:
Level
1 – Assistant Coach (equal to the EQF 3)
Level
2 – Junior Coach (equal to the EQF 4)
Level 3 – Coach (equal to the EQF 5)
Cadets begin the qualification course from the Level 1 – Assistant Coach (equal to the EQF 3) and, in accordance with the requirements for each level, continue their education in stages.
Will the qualification help me to get a coach license
in my country?
There are 2 steps involved
in getting an official license from the relevant sporting authority as a
Capoeira Coach in most European countries.
In the first step Coaches
should successfully complete online the courses organized by the WCF and pass the
examinations.
In the second part Coaches
should participate in seminars in their own country including general knowledge
subjects such as biology, medicine, pedagogy, psychology, organization, finance
and law.
Who can participate?
The course
content is open for all Capoeiristas over 18 years of age with at least 5 years of Capoeira
experience. Interested persons can participate in the courses by applying
through their Home National Federation or directly with the WCF of their country
does not have a National Federation.
What are the Requirements to join the course?
Requirements to join the Capoeira Coaching Qualification courses will be as following:

How
can I apply & What is the process of participation?
1. The candidate must be an individual member and have a personal account in the WCF website. Click here to start the registration.
2. The
candidate must login to his or her personal account, go to the RANKING section,
and in the field of Coaching qualifications click APPLY FOR THE NEXT LEVEL.
3. If
the candidate is a member of a National Capoeira Federation, his or her request
to be considered must be approved by the Home National Capoeira Federation
first. If the candidate has no National Capoeira Federation in his or her
country, this request to be considered must approved by the WCF directly.
4. After
confirmation of acceptance, the candidate is given a login and password to the
Qualification’s web platform.
5. Each
level of the Qualification consists of 8 (eight) modules. Modules can be
completed in any order and candidates may switch between modules freely. Exam questions
are in MULTIPLE CHOICE, TRUE or FAULSE and OPEN ENDED questions. There is also a
requirement that the candidate must upload videos for the practical sections of
the courses.
6. A
participant has 4 (four) month to complete the online course, to upload his or her
videos and to complete all examinations.
7. Upon
fulfilling the requirements of the course, the participant’s result will be
saved in the database, and after paying the course fee, it will be checked by
the Education and Coach Commission of WCF and the CSF.
8. Based on the results of the exams, a corresponding TSA (Transcript of Competencies Achieved) and a certificate will be issued to the candidate.
Who
will award the certificates and Capoeira Coaching License?
1. The Transcript
of Competencies Achieved and the Certificate of graduation for the Capoeira
Coaching Qualification will be awarded by the WCF (World Capoeira Federation)
and CSF (Colleague of Sport and Fitness, based in Australia), as the courses
are organized mutually by these two institutions.
2. Certificates
of attendance of courses of General Knowledge will be awarded by the relevant
institution in your country which is designated by the authorized State Sport
Organ. For example, in Estonia it is Tallinn Pedagogical University.
3. And
finally, the Capoeira Coach license will be awarded by the relevant Sport Organ
in your country. For example, in Croatia it is Ministry of Science, Education
and Sports, in Estonia it is Estonian Olympic Committee etc.
What is the participation fee? How to pay?

These fees relate to administration requirements. The payment amount is not refundable should you wish to cancel your participation at any stage.
