World Capoeira Federation (WCF) is an international nonprofit organization with the objective of promoting Capoeira as a world sport. WCF recognizes capoeira as a cultural heritage of Brazil and respects its historical roots and philosophy.
Today WCF is the only international capoeira institute on sport Capoeira which standardizes sport norms for Capoeira, organizes worldwide capoeira competitions, capoeira coaching qualifications and International capoeira referee courses. WCF covers the whole world of Capoeira.
HISTORY
The first idea of creating the World Capoeira Federation was proposed at the 3rd World Forum on Capoeira, which was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, June 18, 2011. The author of the project is Jamil Huseyn.
The aim of the project was to bring together of various capoeira organizations that were scattered around the world under a single and strong international Capoeira federation.
Later in October 2011, WCF was established and passed state registration in Estonia. The headquarters of the organization is located in Tallinn city, Republic of Estonia. Registration number: 80334399
Since establishment WCF began to organize world capoeira competitions in which all international capoeira groups and associations could participate. Capoeira sport norms and standards were applied first time in these events.
As a result of the successful work done, the number of members of the federation increased with each passing month.
Members of the World Capoeira Federation are national capoeira federations established from international capoeira groups such as "Capoeira Brasil", "Muzenza", "AXE Capoeira", "Capoeira Gerais", "Candeias" etc.

STRATEGIES
The main goal of the WCF is to promote sport Capoeira worldwide and to reach the entry of Capoeira into Olympic Games. Besides it also WCF struggles to:
- involve people who love capoeira all over the globe, to join under one umbrella;
- to create sport standards for Capoeira;
- develop friendly relations and coordination with all national capoeira federations and groups;
- involve all capoeira groups and schools to mass competitions;
- cooperate with the sport organizations, including International Olympic Committee as well as other organizations for the development of capoeira;
- to popularize capoeira together with national capoeira federations, groups, schools and other capoeira organizations;
- to train highly qualified sportsmen, trainers, referees, capoeira masters and other specialists;
- to comply its activity with the requirements of the Olympic Charter, International Conventions, Olympic Movement medical code and World anti-doping code and to follow them strictly;
- to defend the interests and rights of sportsmen, trainers, capoeira masters and other capoeira specialists.
MAIN BODIES OF THE WCF
The General Conference serves as the supreme body of the WCF and comprises Full Members of the organization. Full Members of the WCF consist of National and Continental Capoeira Federations (Associations). The General Conference convenes at least once a year and holds the authority to make decisions concerning the WCF's activities, provided such decisions align with the statutes of the WCF. This authority includes confirming the budget and conducting the election of the President, Vice President, and other members of the Management Board. Each Full Member of the WCF is entitled to one vote in the General Conference.
The Management Board is the executive authority of the WCF and plays a key role in leading its activities between General Conferences. The Chairman of the Management Board holds the title of President of the WCF. The Management Board is composed of 12 individual members. Decisions are made by a simple majority vote conducted in an open voting manner.
Supervisory commission is one of the principal bodies of WCF which realizes control and inspection activity in WCF, and consists of 5 members and a chairman. The members of the Supervisory Commission are individuals. The Supervisory commission reviews written applications submitted by the bodies and members of WCF within a month, and responds accordingly.
Council of Masters is one of the principal bodies, which recognizes capoeira masters in the world, records them, as well as, prepares technical standards and procedural rules of capoeira in Federation. The members of the Council of Masters elect new members of this body and discharge from membership with a simple majority of votes and with approval of the President.
